Part documentary, part fiction, Dream Town examines Barentsburg, a Russian coal-mining town on a Norwegian Island in the Arctic Circle. Looking at the stark reality of the miners, scientists, and children who live there, the film contrasts their unusual existence with fictional interludes they created with the director.
